Our Projects
Rotary Youth Scholarships & Trades Grant Program
The Rotary Club of Batavia, NY is proud to invest in the future of our community by supporting local high school students in their academic and career journeys. Each year, we award $1,500 scholarships—renewable annually for four years—to outstanding graduating seniors from:
- Batavia High School
- Notre Dame High School
- Genesee Valley BOCES
These scholarships are designed to recognize academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement, helping students pursue higher education with less financial burden.
In addition, we offer a one-time $1,500 Trades Grant to a graduating senior entering a skilled trade program. This grant supports the purchase of tools, equipment, and supplies needed to launch a successful career in the trades.
With these opportunities, we aim to empower the next generation—whether they're headed to college or straight into the workforce—to build brighter futures for themselves and our community.
Rotary Park – Cared for by the Rotary Club of Batavia
At the heart of our community, Rotary Park stands as a symbol of service, pride, and connection—thanks to the ongoing care and commitment of the Rotary Club of Batavia.
Each year, our members volunteer their time and energy to maintain and beautify the park through:
- Regular garbage collection to keep the park clean and welcoming
- Gardening and landscaping to ensure vibrant, seasonal greenery
- Festive holiday decorating to bring joy and spirit to the community during Christmas
Rotary Park is more than just a green space—it's a place for reflection, gathering, and celebration. We're proud to keep it thriving for all to enjoy.
Keeping Ellicott Trail Clean
The Rotary Club of Batavia is proud to help keep our community clean and beautiful through regular trash cleanup efforts along the Ellicott Trail.
Rotarians volunteer their time to walk the trail, collecting litter and debris to ensure that this beloved public space remains a safe, scenic, and enjoyable environment for everyone. It’s our way of giving back to a community that gives us so much—and of upholding our commitment to service above self.
From preserving natural beauty to promoting public health and recreation, our work on the Ellicott Trail is part of our mission to support a cleaner, more connected Batavia.
Cleaner trails. Stronger community. One bag at a time.Gleaning for the Salvation Army
Members of the Rotary Club of Batavia join forces with Leadership Genesee volunteers to take part in a meaningful community effort: gleaning fresh produce from local farms to help feed those in need.
Through the generous support of L-Brooke Farms, our volunteers gather excess fruits and vegetables that would otherwise go unused. These nutritious foods are then donated directly to the Salvation Army, where they are distributed to individuals and families throughout our community.
This hands-on initiative is a powerful example of how collaboration, generosity, and service can make a lasting impact. We are deeply grateful to L-Brooke Farms for opening their fields and helping us bring nourishment—and hope—to our neighbors.
Harvesting food. Spreading kindness. Feeding community.
